ONION BHAJIYA
Onion Bhajiya or Onion pakoras are one of the most popular evening snacks. This crispy fried snack is quick to make and richly delicious when made with Sher Besan.

INGREDIENTS

  • 5-6 medium thin sliced onions
  • 3-4 finely chopped green chilies
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped coriander
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Amchoor powder
  • 1 tsp carom seeds
  • Sal t (to taste)
  • 2 cups Sher Besan (chana flour )
  • Water (as required)
  • Oil for frying

INSTRUCTIONS

In a glass bowl, add 5-6 medium thin sliced onions, 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt,1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala powder ,1/2 tsp black salt, 2 tsp red chili powder,1/2 turmeric powder,1 tsp Amchoor powder,1 tsp carom seeds and mix well with your hand. Now, add 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger, 3-4 finely chopped green chilies and 3 tbsp finely chopped coriander and again mix well with your hand. Now add 2 cups Sher Besan (chana flour) and give it a good mix with your hand. Add water as required and mix it all with water to make a thick paste.

FRYING OF ONION BHUJIYA

Start adding small quantity of Onion Bhajiya in oil for frying batter with your hand. Let it deep fry till it turns golden brown. Dish it out and viola Onion Bhajiya is ready. Serve it hot with tomato ketchup, chili garlic sauce and green chutney!
